About the Event
The Fostering LIFE 5K & Community Festival is a certified 5K run and family-friendly walk held during National Foster Care Month to raise awareness about the state of foster care in Georgia and the critical needs of youth in care and the caregivers who support them.
This event brings together runners, families, foster parents, youth, advocates, and community members to move with purpose—spotlighting the realities facing youth in foster care while investing in solutions that create stability, opportunity, and long-term success.
Whether you’re an avid runner, a first-time participant, or walking in solidarity, your presence helps amplify a message that matters.
Why This Event Is Free
To ensure access for all families and community members, registration is free.
However, the work this event supports is not. Participants are encouraged to donate at registration or on event day to support Fostering LIFE’s year-round programming serving youth in foster care and the caregivers who walk alongside them.
More Than a Race
Following the 5K and walk, participants are invited to remain onsite for family-friendly and informational activities designed to educate, engage, and connect the community around foster care advocacy, resources, and ways to get involved.
This is not just a race—it’s an opportunity to raise awareness, invest in futures, and grow forward with intention.
